| How does the BidAssist work? |
We think that watching the auction as your bids come in is part of the fun, but we also know that sometimes you need to drag yourself away from your computer. That´s when the BidAssist comes in handy. Just tell the BidAssist the minimum and maximum price at which you want him to place bids, as well as the number of bids you\´re prepared to place and he´ll do the rest.
How does the BidAssist decide when exactly to place my Bids?
If there is only one BidAssist bidding on an auction, the bids from that BidAssist will be placed within the final 10 seconds of the auction - the countdown then resets, as it would for a normal bid, allowing other bidders to bid again.
If there are two or more BidAssist bidding against each other, the countdown will need to hit 4 seconds before the next bid assist bid is placed, and the price and countdown increase with each bid placed. (We do this so that bidders can easily see the auctions that will end soon unless another bid is placed).
We have a few simple rules about how your BidAssist can be used - just remember these when telling your BidAssist when to bid:
- You can only use the BidAssist for placing at least two bids: if you just want to place a single bid, just click the bid button.
- Your maximum price has to be at least 1p higher than the current price.
- Once the bidding has reached the minimum price at which you instructed your BidAssist to start bidding, you can no longer cancel your bids.
- Do not enter amounts like .10, .20 you must enter 0.10, 0.20 otherwise the BidAssist system will just eat up all your bids.
- If you start your BidAssist below the current price then your BidAssist will not be placed or used.
Why did the auction end before my maximum price was reached?
If this happens, all of your BidAssist bids must have been used before your maximum price was reached. Next time, try increasing the maximum number of bids that the BidAssist can place.
What happens to the BidAssist bids that didn´t get used?
Bids that the BidAssist didn´t use are credited back to your winno account. This might happen when you win an auction. It can also happen if an auction ends before your minimum price is reached, or if your maximum price is reached before all your bids are used up. |
