SMART countdown timer for popular auctions

EuroBids team has received numerous feedback from customers saying that some auctions tend to last for a long time and that the countdown timer that is set to 2 minutes, is too long. We have chosen to use 2 minutes because we want to give our users time to think before each bidding decisions. For our most popular auctions, however, there are several bids made during a short amount of time. Our auction system is built to analyse such intensive user interest and in these cases will shorten the countdown timer length so that our users have a chance to win the auction faster.
It is not in ours nor our customers' interest to keep the same auction running for a long time. On the contrary, our objective is to have more winners, a higher churn of auctions and more variety of products so that we can best service the needs of our different customer profiles.

Select your usernames carefully

EuroBids team has disvovered that some of our customers are creating usernames that are either vulgar, offensive or otherwise confusing to our other customers. For example usernames "autobid" or "pennybot" are confusing and therefore not allowed. Our team is constantly checking the stream of new users and all such usernames that are unappropriate by nature will be deleted. We advise all customers to create usernames that are neutral in meaning.
